Biography:

Started diving in Darwin in 1963 where Tim obtained his first certification as a Ships' Diver in RAN. From there, Tim worked as a salvage, construction and harbour diver in Darwin after leaving the RAN. Tim instructed sports diving in Darwin and ran the Civil Defence diving team. In 1976, Tim was awarded a Churchill Scholarship to study diving in the USA and was selected to participate in the Duke University deep diving experiments (as a test goat!). Tim spent the next 15 years working in the off shore oil field diving industry and was a Saturation Superintendent when he finally called it a day in 1990. After a number of years with no diving, Tim got his passion back during a trip to Fiji in 1994 where the water was blue, clear and warm. Tim has been working on his recreational and technical diving skills ever since with varying levels of success. His interests are wrecks, underwater photography and more recently underwater archaeology. Decompression theory is also a major interest as it seems to be going in circles with theories coming and going depending on the latest fashion.
